As far as I can remember I was always interested in painting. I really started when at the age of 10 my father bought me painting by numbers but it wasn't until I was much older that I did try and paint something from scratch. I started in oils.
As I progressed I found that working in oils was time consuming, the paint took a long time to dry and the finished painting would take approximately 6 months to complete. This was not fast enough for me and I experimented with water based oils.
I then went on to water colours. I didn't find this easy to begin with but the more I painted the more I enjoyed what I was producing. This is now my favorite medium. The commission work I receive mostly requests water colours and I can finish a painting in 2 to 3 weeks.
Until recently I have bought ready made frames but became frustrated in that the frames I bought sometimes did not bring out the best in my painting. I have now completed my framing course and very soon hope to offer a full framing service which will give my clients a much better selection of frames to compliment the finished work.
